Client UniFi OneTouch Setup

  1. If you've already requested a VPN, once a technician sets you up an account you should receive an email from identity@ui.com called "Welcome to UniFi Identity!"
  2. Click "Get Started" and it will take you to this link to download the VPN and load your specific credential
  3. Hit "Download Unifi Identity", and once the download finishes hit "load your credential now"
  4. Once these are both done, you should have an icon pop up in your toolbar that looks like this:
  5. If it is not showing: try right-clicking your taskbar (the main ribbon at the bottom of your screen) -> hitting "Taskbar Settings" -> Scrolling down to "Other system tray icons" -> toggle "Identity" on. this makes it show constantly on the toolbar
  6. This is your VPN! Whenever you are working outside of your business's network and want to secure your communications, toggle it on. When you are onsite, toggle it off to avoid any issues.
    1. A VPN (Virtual Private Network) is essentially a tunnel between your device and the firewall/router at your business. Using a VPN helps keep people from snooping on any data in transit, and can also allow you to access local resources as if you were actually onsite on that network (ex. you can use network folders on the network while abroad)
